Eggmund before the brick wall details were added
The plastic globe that is inside his body had a cylinder sticking out the bottom, so I cut a whole in the cardboard box so he won't tip over.
Eggmund nearly complete, with brick wall sewn on!
He just needs the Fall Brewing Label added to the glass of beer....
Eggmund is Done!
I printed out the Fall Brewing logo and slapped it on the glass! All ready to delivery to the brewery!
Eggmund arrives at his new home at Fall Brewing in North Park
Eggmund meets his new Dad's - Dave Lively and Ramon Astamendi, the owners of Fall Brewing Company.
Eggmund and Ray!
Eggmund and Ray say "Cheers!"
Eggmund on his perch at Fall Brewing Company
Be sure to take a selfie with Eggmund, he is very friendly. But please be careful.. he has been knocked over many times and has had beer spilled on him. I know he's based on humpty dumpty but he doesn't want any more cracks on his forehead!
Let's have a look at some of Eggmund's fun seasonal accessories!
Merry Christmas From Eggmund!
Okay so I cheated and got the Santa Hat from Target... I'd had a busy week and didn't have time to sew one for him...
Christmas Eggmund has a TACO!!!
I made Eggmund a Taco out of felt for the Fall Brewing taco night.
Mmmm Corn Dog for Eggmund!
To celebrate the Carnita's Snack Shack VS Fathom Bait & Tackle corn dog night I made Eggmund a felt corn dog.
Will you be my Valentine, Eggmund?
For Valentine's day I sewed on a red lipstick kiss to Eggmund's cheek and made him a red heart with a bad pun.
Eggmund is such a romantic!
"I've fallen for you" - because Eggmund lives at Fall Brewing... get it?... Get it? So punderful!
St. Patrick's Day Eggmund!
Ok ok I cheated again and got his hat from Target... it was a perfect fit... I was busy.. busy I tells ya!
Let's take a look at how Eggmund was made!
My original Eggmund Illustration
My good pal Ray Astamendi asked me... can you make me a 1940's style Humpty Dumpty toy for my brewery? I asked.... can he be 25% creepy looking? Ray said yes! I did this illustration and Ray loved it, so that' what I based the plush toy on.
The orb inside Eggmund
See that big plastic orb? That's what Eggmund looks like on the inside. Ray gave me the orb and said to sew him around that... so I did!
Eggmund's head
I wrapped a layer of batting around the orb and then added pieces of beige fabric for his face. Then I sewed on the details. You can see the print out of my original illustration that I used for reference. (I ended up not using the squiggles on his cheeks as they didn't look right).
Eggmund's Beer Glass
The beer part is made out of felt. The glass part is an old plastic folder that I cut up and then sewed into a cylinder shape using fishing line type invisible thread. It turned out better than I thought it would.
Thumbs up!
So far so good. Eggmund likes his new bowler hat! I omitted the thumbs up logo from the original illustration, as I decided to put that on the beer glass instead. He needed some pants.. he can't just be an egghead.
Eggmund has some dignity!
I began to sew on his fancy blue pants and also removed those weird cheek squiggles.
You've got to hand it to him!
Eggmund's hands are actually my hands. I traced around my own hands as it was the fasted way to make the pattern. I also look a bit like Eggmund as I have small shoulders and it makes my head look big. So my hands are totally in proportion with Eggmund!
Throw the horns!
I was rocking out to AC/DC this night and posed his fingers. There are pipe cleaners inside so his digits can bend as needed.
Eggmund is done!
I added his collar, bowtie, and sewed on his arms and sewed the beer glass into his hand. Voila! Be sure to visit him at Fall Brewing Company!
